Watch how easy it is to plant and care for your new Leafve!

SHORT INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Plant your plant with wick lower part dipping into the bottom of the black water holder, upper part into the soil.

  2. Add water to soil and water reservoir.

  3. Ride around town with your new co-pilot. If it’s hot, use a sunshade and crack the windows while parked.

  4. Add water when to the bottom reservoir and soil only when the soil is dry. If your buddy is a succulent, wait a couple of days in between watering, before adding water to reservoir only.

  5. That’s all!

LONG (more fun) INSTRUCTIONS:

1.      Say “hi” to your new plant baby/pet! It’s had a rough couple of days. Does it need a hug?

What’s its name? What language(s) does it speak? Does it have any hobbies? Is it a boy or a girl? Monoecious? How do you know?

2.     First, let’s put your little guy into its new home… Find your super-cool Leafve pot and its base. With the two pieces screwed together, make sure the wick is threaded through the hole in the bottom of the pot and reaches to the bottom of the water reservoir. While holding the wick to the side of the pot, pour in about half of the included baggie soil.

3.     Take your plant out of its boring transit pot and place it (and the transit soil) on top of the baggie soil now in the pot, and arrange the rest of the baggie soil, so that the base of the plant reaches where the pot begins to flare out. The wick should still be pushed to the side of the pot and completely buried. If it’s not buried, just wrap whatever is left around the outer-edge of the pot, under the soil.

4.    Give your Leafve some water on top, to moisten the soil. Fill the reservoir later, after the soil is dry to the touch, and continue to fill the reservoir in the same way. If your new pet is a succulent, let the soil completely dry out for a few days before adding more water to the reservoir.

5.     After calling all of your friends and collecting the Instagram votes and suggestions, name your Leafve, write the name onto the optional wooden stake, and push it into the soil, away from the roots.

6.     You now have a work commute buddy, and an instant Bring-Your-Leafve-To-Work-To-Show-Off Day tomorrow. Keep it on your desk, and gaze intentionally at it for three minutes every day (science). Bring Leafve to enjoy your commute home, repeat process. Your boss will soon give you a ginormous raise for all of the extra work you’re getting done, and another raise for being such a chilled-out employee - thanks to your new Leafve.  Alternatively…

7.     Commence epic roadtrip, and send pictures of your Leafve’s roadside stops to our socials!

 Super-Easy Care!

Give your Leafve a couple of weeks to settle in and mature enough, before leaving it anywhere too hot. Afterwards, it should be relatively maintenance free, other than making sure its water is always full. Depending on the weather and where it’s kept, check it 1-3 times a week. If you anticipate leaving your Leafve in  the car in full sun for an extended period, just put up a sunshade in the windshield and crack the windows while you’re gone, so that it doesn’t get a sunburn. Be sure to check the water level when you get back. You might consider buying some liquid fertilizer, to occasionally add to the water reservoir. Use according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Over time, your baby will start to grow, start new leaves, maybe even flowers. Some succulents will sprout like a teenager and do all kinds of crazy things. (Maybe they’ll even make some kids of their own…)

Enjoy your new friend!
